My practice is centred around portraiture, mainly self-portraits. I enjoy experimenting with colour and form, choosing my colours carefully to reflect emotion in my work. I base my colour choices in their correlation with emotions. Warm colours like red meaning strength and ambition, and cooler colours like purple being associated with emotions like sadness and frustration. This piece is representing a person who is using their inner strength and resolve, to cope with a world around them of melancholy. My other artwork shown here, also centres around colour and how the colours respond to each other. I mainly work digitally as it enables me to freely experiment with colours and compositions.
