Wave to My Past
Wave to My Past is the product of taking binaural headphones to Portreath Beach, Cornwall, on a Stormy Day and recording the natural sounds via a Zoom recorder. Then playing the sounds repeatedly on an MP3 player, I was able to pick out the tonalities and colour compositions which appeared to me synaesthetically. Representing these as the images of childhood in acrylic and oil on canvas, and showing the reoccurring nightmares of being chased by sea-monsters, creatures and being dragged under by seaweed, in a cornucopia of colours.

A Walk from Memory
A Walk from Memory is the recording of the natural sounds via a Zoom recorder using binaural headphones during a walk in Portreath Woods, Cornwall, on a Stormy Day. Then playing the sounds repeatedly back to myself, I was able to place down many of the synaesthetic shapes I could 'see' and incorporate a representation of some of my earliest childhood memories.

A Synaesthetic Response to Queen - You Don't Fool Me
A Synaesthetic Response to Queen - You Don't Fool Me, was originally painted in acrylic in canvas; I revisited, this painting following a break, after developing additional techniques in oil and thinning mediums, and was able to add the additional depths and tones of 'Mercurys' voice within the interlaying music, and describe my experience more clearly to my audience.

A Synesthetic Response To Peter Gabriel - Moribund the Burgermeister
A Synesthetic Response To Peter Gabriel - Moribund the Burgermeister, was originally painted in acrylic on canvas, and I thought I had completed the painting at this point. Despite this I revisited the painting 6 months later to add additional layers to it, to heighten the depths and highlights and further explain my synaesthetic experience to my audience.
