Upari, a virtual music artist from outer space. Their spacecraft 'The Wayfare' has been tampered with and the coordinates have led them to planet Earth. Upari doesn't know who, what, or even why they are here but that isn't gonna stop the intergalactic superstar from landing, having fun, and performing for the whole world to see.

A self-initiated brief, I desired to create a virtual hyperpop music artist, from the character design, branding, logo design, promotional material, and worldbuilding, with the outcome of releasing an animated music video.

Upari has a flamboyant and androgynous persona, their attire reflects that. It is a 60s inspired outfit from it’s space age aesthetic more specifically ‘Googie’, there is a geometric theme on the shoulders to signify an astronaut-like suit which links with the symbols on the outfit. The star on Upari’s right shoulder is a sort of iconography for them and their relation to space, while the circular shape on the right leg of the outfit is Upari’s home planet
