Charlie Sewell

My practise revolves heavily around being thought provoking design, the message and or the way the audience engages with the piece is what I’m most fascinated by. I would label myself as a digital artist, as well as a passionate typographer, specialising in editorial design, motion graphics and print based design. I’m inspired by the contemporary work made by artists within and outside of my practise, whilst on my degree course I have engaged with students on other courses to understand the differences in their approaches to their work, which in turn has influenced my own design process. I aim to stray away from overtly corporate briefs, unless the work being made aligns with my own core values, ones that are of conscious thought in relation to the planet and aren’t harmful to any form of life. The main focus in my work is to fully enjoy the process of making, pushing myself outside of my comfort zone to explore the depths of my own understanding of my practise. I’m still trying to define my voice in this field of graphic design, yet I’m confident in myself, have a willingness to learn and adaptable to whatever is thrown at me.
