Virgin Galactic: Spaceport Cornwall
3rd Year
Visualising what a Virgin Galactic Branded gateway to space might look like right here in Cornwall at Newquay Airport.
For this self-initiated brief, I chose to look at the hugely exciting space race happening right on our doorstep here in Cornwall at Newquay challenging myself to design what the UK's first 'Spaceport' might look like. My design contains expressive and daring space formed architectural insertions inspired by the works of Suprematist painter, Kazamir Malevich. A key driver in my project questions 'what if aliens operated my spaceport', derived from the theories of beyond and the connections between earth and space. This influenced my radial planning organisation strategy with elements orbiting around a complex crop circle expanding from the central centrifuge.

V&A Virtual Archives Pavilion
2nd Year
Bringing the V&A archives to life through an immersive ‘V&R’ experience in a bid to encourage customers and visitors back to the museum to celebrate its 170th anniversary.
My concept uses what the V&A already has and takes this from out of behind closed doors in their expansive archives to utilise this as a cost effective way to create a version of one of it's hugely successful blockbuster exhibitions. Visitors can interact with Virtual archive material in a new fun and exciting way where they are encouraged and guided around the experience by familiar faces of the icons that have played a huge role in the V&A's history.

Co+Life Co-Living Concept
2nd Year
A creative look at flexible co-living to meet the ever-changing needs of millennials.
Co+Life is all about living in the moment, providing fun flexible spaces to more people to create a better and more positive environment for young people to live, work and play. As a result, boosting productivity and improving mental health and physical wellbeing. We are currently experiencing a massive shift in the housing market in a bid to solve the housing crisis with a community focused response. However, developers have caught on the ‘trend’, dramatically scaling upwards creating multi-million pound ‘cynical corporate dormitories’ Coldwell 2019. My project challenges this approach offering the same independent self-contained living arrangements but in much smaller communities. These are connected through a central space which changes every few weeks to offer exciting new activities to work, eat or play with other members living in the community.

Kenwyn Street Rooms
1st Year
Creating a gothic style boutique hotel inspired by the buildings architectural style and traditional gothic motifs.
Upon visiting the site, I was inspired by many of the original elements of the church such as the stained-glass windows especially the large central piece above the entrance to the building. I was really interested in its gothic inspired motifs and the link that this had to the heritage of the building. I thought this added a nice sense of character to the building and this is something that I wanted to take advantage of within my design.
