Megan Crees

My work aims to bring together a range of elements of design, as you can see from this collection some of these are typography, publications, branding, and photography. Taking a broadened approach to briefs makes my work unique, the best example of this is the peach pig cover seen above. This was a brief for a poet where we had to make a book cover for her new realize. I approached this brief by using the metaphors used in her poetry, this strong visual language was a key part of her poetry so I wanted to celebrate this on the front cover. The sandwich seen is a combination of metaphors approaching the topic of feminism, symbolizing the idea that the world we live in creates this complex image of women. I enjoy taking concepts and approaching them in new ways, much like a peach pig, to allow for outcomes to be created that push new views on the concept but also spark interest in the topic. I hope through this portfolio you will be able to see an insight into me as a designer and also as a creative.

So why do we let this happen?

We are here to change this,

We are a safe place

This is not just a website,

This is a new way to expand your mind

With honest comment sections,

and built-in rating systems,

We allow you to not only question

But understand the logic.

We start each topic with a summary video to understand both sides,

You then scroll down to the debate section

This is a safe place where you can have these honest open conversations.

As well as our curated website, we also produce varied and informative range of podcast

with the some of the best individuals in their respective field,

talking and explaining both the positive and negatives views on the subject matter.

If you want to expand past a screen we have our custom debate form.

This has been created to allow for these conversations to happen at home.

These types of conversations can be hard to have face to face,

So we have created an activity pack which allows for this to be easier.

To allow you to sit with the people around you

and understand each other better.

We want to allow people to learn and expand their views,

This is a project that was sparked from a conversation about shooting with James Crewdson. We looked at how controversial it can be and how talking about these types of topics can be hard without people taking it personally. From this we explored how we can understand more about how people can think, coming up with the concept of Blah Blah Blah. This is a debate platform that aims to widen how people communicate and view the world. We create a website, podcast, and a workbook with supporting videos that allow people to explore both sides of an argument before having these conversations to they can get a better understanding of where the other person is coming from allowing for more openness and honesty.
