I found the ability to roam the site and landscape, and develop a specific narrative from the discoveries, was the best aspect about a project on the west coast of Cornwall. This led way to concepts being derived from the post industrial landscape, and its close contrasting relationship to the raw Penwith coast. Bricking It is a project that developed experiments with the ground itself, these in turn opened up avenues into reconnecting people with the landscape beyond National Trust membership. By creating machines that harvest the remnants of a mining history, the site is able to evolve and call upon those visiting, to utilise the creations of the machines.
