'Don't Wish Your Life Away'
‘Don’t wish your life away' is a quiet reflection on experience, exploring my personal contemplations of the past year endured, and how time to reflect has impacted the way we think post-pandemic. Photographs show something that can no longer ever exist; the picture is a construction of something that only exists for a moment. Lockdown changed our perception of time, a moment existed for hours, days, weeks, and months. This fuelled my practice, there is repetitiveness in my series, visually signifying the monotony of lockdown.
'Learn To Play Cards My Duck And You Will Never Be On Your Own'
'Learn To Play Cards My Duck And You Will Never Be On Your Own' is inspired by the image world and the futility of individuality. It reflects the realities of age, highlighting the nuances of everyday life and the impact it has on those around us. These pieces shine a light on the ordinary that is not usually photographed in a world continually searching for perfection.
'Yuletide' grows from my fascination with the past and the feeling of nostalgia that we have sometimes for eras we weren't born in, and the desire to live in a time before our own, I think in the same way that we change memories by looking at photographs they replace the original memory and block out the real memory.
A Breath Of Fresh Air
‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ is an investigation into Nostalgia. My intention was to explore the diverse feelings of Nostalgia from the aches to the joy experienced when remembering moments from the past.
