A Call To Wellness
Untitled image from the series 'A Call To Wellness' (2019) shot on film in Hampshire. The series explored psychogeography and walking as a practise of mindfulness. Comprised of delicate scenes of mundane countryside living and ethereal landscapes the project is an ode to finding mental peace and clarity in both nature and solitude.
To You From Somewhere, Never
Untitled image from the series 'To You From Somewhere, Never' (2021). This is an ongoing series developing from my final portfolio project at university that explores the study of found and collected objects. Comprising of a mixture of archival images, collage, still life and landscape photographs the project showcases the banal beauty of nostalgic ephemera and forms a narrative of the obscure curiosities one finds in someone else's disregarded things.
Untitled image from the series 'Saudade' (2020). The series of landscapes intended to make tangible these formless and fleeting feelings I had towards the idea of home and my identity. Constantly haunted by feelings of displacement and detachment due to my ambiguous heritage, secretive family history and a childhood of uprooting, I sought comfort in both new and old environments in an effort to understand where I felt grounded and question the notion of place.
Untitled image from the series 'Dépaysement' (2019). Shot on a range of film stocks during a brief stay in Marseille, the collection of intimate still life and landscapes speak to this idea of homesickness and feelings of displacement in a new environment. Otherwise, the literal meaning of the series title translated from French. The images showcase moments of quietude and solace found exploring a new city.
