My design approach lies within commercial design with a key focus on user-led and narrative design. I am inspired by the idea of storytelling and I feel narrative design brings these stories to light. This concept of storytelling within my designs is best used on buildings that can be adapted and reused. Using old buildings, I am able to use the past as the foundations for my design. The built environment captures moments in time, and I hope to use these moments to create immersive experiences for my user. Using this technique of using design to tell a story creates meaningful and memorable spaces for my user.
‘Daydream’ is an extension from the British library exclusively for children and their families. The Daydream Library aims to benefit children’s development and their relationship with books by using imagination play as a key tool. The space acts as a framework which gives children the power to explore and create using their own imaginations.
