Degree show installation view 1
This image shows the central view of my set-up for the show with honey still lives and paintings of rooms in boxes. These honey paintings were the starting point for all of my recent work; after reading 'Bee Journal', a book of poems by the beekeeper and poet Sean Borodale, I couldn't stop thinking about honey, bees, and the intersection between human and insect lives. From this developed my interest in wasps, nests, and our living spaces.
Degree show installation view 2
This view of my installation shows paintings on glass, paper wasp's nests, and aluminium, as well as on the inside of boxes. The two box paintings on this side of the show, are of staircases that lead nowhere. Green escapes the confines of the boxes into the surroundings.

A closer look at the shelf that holds the staircase box and a garden painting. The final box remains closed, keeping the painting inside a secret.
