This piece brings together a photograph which has been held dear to our family. Merged with other visual material of sentimental value it is abstracted playing on the role of memory in a time where we are decreasingly dependent upon it.
This piece was made from imagery that I had never seen before. Giving me a fresh perspective on the lives of my parents before my birth, I find it very interesting to explore these ideas as it is something that is so important in terms of identity but it something that is not spoken about enough.
This piece was constructed using a medley of visual material taken from my time in Hong Kong between the ages of 9 and 15. Exploring my own memory of my time there as well as differing cultural zeitgeists.
This piece also attempts to construct narrative through appropriated imagery. Not knowing the events in these images upon first making them often leads to some interesting results.
