Project: A Centre for life on Scilly. A challenging brief due to the remote island location, imported materials and labour significantly increasing build costs. My proposal uses an onsite CNC plywood Self-build system to construct both residential and public buildings.
Six years in the construction industry as a scaffolder working on local projects gave me a greater appreciation for the stunning location that we live in and wanting to shape the built environment, expand my understanding of architecture and led to my time at Falmouth.
I’m hoping to progress to the MArch course at Falmouth as a Cornish student which will further develop my architectural theory knowledge and understanding of place and context and how they shape the built and natural environment while being conscious of sustainability. Additionally, advance my practical design skills, model making, sketching, CAD and spatial awareness to develop my own architectural language and eventually become a certified architect.
